High-Precision Geophysical Breakthroughs Drive Intelligent Exploration Efficiency

The global oil and gas exploration industry is accelerating its shift toward intelligent, high-precision operations. Recently, international geophysical companies TGS and GTI signed a four-year strategic collaboration agreement focused on integrated ocean-bottom node (OBN) and streamer seismic acquisition projects. The partnership covers shallow-water, complex transition-zone, and deepwater basins, with the goal of optimizing the full workflow from survey design and node deployment through to data processing.

Domestic technological innovation is progressing in parallel. BGP’s independently developed AI-based abnormal near-field wavelet identification technology was successfully applied in a Caspian Sea OBN project, achieving single-shot identification in just 0.04 seconds with accuracy exceeding 98%. This significantly improves the efficiency of marine seismic data quality control. At the same time, high-end equipment continues to advance: ultra-large-tonnage broadband vibrators now deliver peak output of 80,000 pounds and a frequency bandwidth of 1.5–120 Hz, providing essential technical support for ultra-deep oil and gas reservoir exploration.

Overall, the industry is moving toward technology-driven efficiency gains, with rising global demand for intelligent geophysical equipment and solutions.
